Corn and soybean condition ratings nationwide fell by three points and one point respectively, according to USDA’s Weekly Crop Progress report. Corn ratings nationwide fell to 58% good to excellent while soybeans fell to 59% good to excellent as of Sunday, August 7th, 2022. Spring wheat nationwide is six points to 64% good to excellent as well as of Sunday. Winter wheat harvest is 86% complete.
North Dakota corn fell seven points this week to 72% good to excellent, South Dakota corn fell six points to 59% good to excellent while Minnesota corn was down one point to 62% good to excellent. Iowa corn continued to fall, down three points to 73% good to excellent while Illinois corn ratings went up one point to 75% good to excellent. Nebraska fell four points to 50% good to excellent on corn.
North Dakota soybeans fell four points to 59% good to excellent, South Dakota soybeans are down five points to 60% good to excellent and Minnesota soybeans are down three points on the week to 63% good to excellent. Soybeans in Iowa went down two points to 71% good to excellent, Nebraska down three points to 54% good to excellent and Illinois was two points higher at 70% good to excellent.
Spring wheat in North Dakota is 74% good to excellent, Minnesota is at 74% good to excellent and South Dakota is at 47% good to excellent.
