Old-Crop Export Sales See Decent Jump This Week

(WASHINGTON D.C.) — Both old-crop corn and soybeans saw a decent jump in activity for the week ended July 20th, 2023. According to USDA’s Weekly Export Sales report we saw sales of 12.4 million bushels (mb) of old-crop corn and 7.3 mb of old-crop soybeans on the week with Mexico the top corn buyer and the Netherlands the top soybean buyer.

On the new-crop side, we saw 13.2 mb of new-crop corn sold for the week with 20.0 mb of new-crop soybeans sold. Canada was the top new-crop corn buyer while China was the top buyer of new-crop soybeans.

For wheat, we saw sales of 8.6 mb with the Philippines as the top buyer on the week. Beef net sales came in at 21,400 metric tons (MT) which was up 43% from the prior four week average. Pork net sales were 25,500 MT which was up 6% from the prior four week average. South Korea, Japan and China were the top beef buyers while Mexico, Japan and Colombia were the top pork buyers for the week.
