(WASHINGTON D.C.)– Even with the recent rain and snow in some parts of the country and the recent cold snap, farmers are finding time to complete remaining fieldwork.
According to the latest Crop Progress Report from USDA, soybean harvest is 91% complete nationwide as of Sunday, November 5th. Corn harvest is moving closer to the finish line as well with 81% of the crop harvested nationwide as of Sunday. Most of the delays on corn harvest are coming from the eastern Corn Belt with Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania still not over the halfway mark.
Winter wheat seedings are now 90% complete nationwide as of Sunday with 75% of the crop emerged. Overall, 50% of the winter wheat crop is rated in good to excellent condition as of Sunday. That is well above the 30% G/E rating for this time last year.
