More Layoffs Announced at John Deere in Iowa

(WATERLOO, IA) — More than 300 John Deere employees are set to be laid off by the end of September according to new reports out this week.

According to a news report from KWWL-TV, an employee email indicated that 345 production employees at the John Deere Waterloo Operations are set to be laid off effective September 20th, 2024. The company states it is “working to balance the size of its manufacturing workforce with market demand for its products.”

This new round of layoffs comes after Deere has announce multiple rounds of layoffs in recent months including facilities in Dubuque, Davenport and Waterloo, IA along with Moline, IL and Coffeyville, KS.
