(Pierre, SD) — A major jet fuel processing facility is coming to eastern South Dakota with help from the federal government. The U.S. Department of Energy announced yesterday a conditional loan guarantee of nearly one-and-a-half billion dollars for the Gevo Net-Zero One plant at Lake Preston. It’s a facility that could produce up to 60 million gallons of jet fuel from corn annually. The federal aid is part of the Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to clean energy.
